Surgical Pathology
During this one-year program in general surgical pathology, the fellow will participate in the daily activities of the division at the junior faculty level, assuming responsibility and independence commensurate with his or her level of training and experience.
The fellow will also participate in resident teaching, function as a consultant at interdisciplinary conferences and participate in scientific investigation leading to publication. The fellowship can be modified to allow for additional advanced training in specialized areas, such as hematopathology or cytopathology.
There are excellent facilities of diagnostic and investigative work, including laboratories for electron microscopy, immunocytochemistry, cell culture and cellular immunology. Opportunities to utilize the new techniques of flow cytometry, morphometry and molecular pathology as applied to cancer are also available.
This fellowship is not offered every year. Please contact the department as to its availability.
