Joseph L. Staneck, Ph.D.

Dr. Staneck received his Ph.D. in Microbiology from the University of Massachusetts (1968-1972) and did his post-doctoral training in Clinical Microbiology at the Mayo Graduate School of medicine (1972-1974). He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Medical Microbiology in Medical Microbiology and Public Health (1976-1998). He also is an editor for the Journal of Clinical Microbiology (1990-present). Currently, Dr. Staneck is a Professor at the University of Cincinnati as well as the Director of both Laboratory Medicine and Clinical Microbiology. His subspecialty interests include antibiotics, mycobacterial infections, actinomycetes, toxic shock syndrome, enteric infections, and laboratory administration.
