Tito Cavallo, M.D. EmeritusMD - University of Sao Paulo, 1963; Specialty Training - Anatomic pathology and nephropathology, Brigham and Women's Hospital, Boston City Hospital, (Mallory Institute).Research interests - Autoimmunity, mechanisms of tissue injury, biology of immune complex disease; Specialty Area - Nephropathology, ultrastructural pathology Dr. Cavallo was recruited as Director of Anatomic Pathology and as a Nephropathologist from Brown University. He is an internationally known nephropathologist. Two years after his arrival he was promoted to Vice-Chairman for Clinical Affairs. Dr. Cavallo serves on the Editorial Board of Laboratory Investigation, Kidney and American Journal of Pathology. He also reviews articles for a number of other journals in the fields of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, Immunology and others. From 1991 to 1995 Dr. Cavallo served as a member of the Immunology, Virology and Pathology study sections at the National Institutes of Health. Dr. Cavallo interacts closely with the Nephrology Group and regularly attends on the Autopsy Service.
