Comparative PathologyThe Division of Comparative Pathology serves a major role in the University, providing expertise in the pathology of laboratory animals. The laboratory occupies 1000 square feet and has experienced considerable growth in the number of collaborating investigators, grant applications, financial stability, and case load. The Division currently collaborates on transgenic and knockout mice with investigators from several departments at UC, Veterans Affairs Medical Center of Cincinnati, Children's Hospital, and with other investigators across the nation. In addition, collaboration with investigators from the Department of Engineering Biomechanics is underway studying a large project examining healing in rabbit tendons. Since its inception in 1992, the Comparative Pathology laboratory services using automated equipment and experienced personnel in gross pathology, histology, morphometric analysis, embryology, and immunocytochemistry. This diversity of the laboratory heightens the ability for the laboratory to perform collaborative work with other investigators. Comparative Pathology is currently under the direction of Dr. Greg Boivin [ The Web at UC | UC Home ] |
