Patrick Tso, Ph.D. ProfessorPhD - University of Western Australia, Nedlands, Australia.Dr. Tso is a well-respected researcher in the area of lipid metabolism. He is also a well-funded investigator with two R01's and a grant from the Proctor and Gamble Company. Together with two other investigators (Drs. Steven Woods and Randy Seeley from the Department of Psychiatry), Dr Tso has recently been awarded a grant to establish an Obesity Center with an annual budget of one million dollars per year for five years. Dr. Tso was the Associate Director of the Clinical Nutrition Research Unit Application (Dr. James Heubi of the Cincinnati Children's Hospital is the Director) which was submitted to the National Institutes of Health. He was a Visiting Professor to the following Universities and companies during the past academic year: Texas A & M University, University of Arizona, Pennsylvania State University, The Upjohn and Pharmacia Company, Merck Company, Entelos Company, GelTex Pharmaceutical Company, Ross Laboratories, Kraft General Foods Company, Monsanto Company, Cornell University Medical Center, Columbia University Medical Center, and Rutgers University.
